About
The Shenandoah Valley Migrant Education Program is located at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. “Mi Mundo es Su Mundo” is a summer project with 10 migrant youth who were given cameras to take pictures of their lives throughout the summer.
Mi Mundo es Su Mundo (My World is Your World) is guided by the following goals:
- To create a space for Latino youth to share their vision of life in the Shenandoah Valley with the wider community.
- To train project participants in basic photography and media skills.
- To provide opportunities for collective investigation and understanding of participants’ different and shared realities.
This will be a space for youth participating in the project to engage with the expressive possibilities of both photography and blogging. It would be a HUGE help if you would take a few minutes and make some comments, get the dialog started.
